Upgrading to Manor Lords Level 2 Burgage plots will help you build some really useful advanced backyard extensions. However, you may run into the issue of not knowing how to get your homes to level 2 as you repeatedly see the “Burgage Plot level too low” warning. It’s important that you get around this warning and upgrade some of these plots to access a new range of options for farming, crafting, and things like smithing to make weapons for yourManor Lords militia. So, below, I’ve explained how to upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 2 in Manor Lords to enhance your town.
What is a Burgage Plot in Manor Lords?

To upgrade a Manor Lords burgage plot to Level 2, you need toclick on a Level 1 house and select the icon of the house with a + icon overlaying it. If you have sufficientManor Lords Regional Wealth, you will be able to upgrade it to Level 2 and turn it into an artisan space where items like weapons and armor can be crafted.

If you’ve run into this “Burgage plot level too low” warning in Manor Lords, it will be because you’re trying to access features or abilities like artisan backyard extension. On a Level 1 plot, that’s not possible, so while Level 1 extensions are incredibly useful forgetting food in Manor Lords, namely the vegetable garden or chicken coop extensions, things like blacksmiths and joineries are reserved only for Level 2.
Upgrading your Burgage plots is easy once you have enough Regional Wealth and the raw resources to construct them with, and will then also increase your wealth in return with the various blacksmiths and joineries you create, adding to the goods you sell. Just make sure you set upManor Lords Trade Routesto sell things to other towns.

Remember that you don’t need to level up every Burgage plot and, in fact, it’s better to have a spread of all levels to ensure that you have enough availableManor Lords peopleto unassign from odd jobs in order to help out with construction. That’s because artisan tenants in Level 2 plots are permanently assigned to the backyard vocation you’ve chosen for them (e.g. their plot becomes the Blacksmith’s house) which effectively removes them from the labour pool for construction and other jobs you would normally assign villagers to.
