DC is looking ahead toward the start of summer with the release of the publisher’s full May 2024 solicitations, which take DC’s heroes in a variety of exciting directions.
First up, there’s the just announcedBoy Wonder limited seriesfrom writer/artist Juni Ba. Focusing on Damian Wayne as he teams up with Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, and Jason Todd to investigate a string of disappearances in Gotham.
Then there’s Outsiders #7, which has a limited solicit which redacts the title of the upcoming arc. But one thing that seems to be the case is that someone may kick the bucket in the title, as Outsiders #7 promises a “requiem for a fallen friend.”
Big changes may also be happening in The Flash #9, as it’s teasing an upgrade for one of Flash’s enemies, the Rogues - who all seem to be leveling up as Flash’s world spins out of control.
There’s also Batman: The Brave and the Bold #13, which contains several stories. The one that’s particularly piqued our interest is a team-up between Batman and Green Lantern Guy Gardner, who have shared a not so friendly rivalry in the past, with Batman once having punched Guy’s lights out.

Editor’s NoteEditor’s NoteWill SalmonComics EditorIt’s all about the Bat-books for me this month. I can’t stress how cool I think the cover and art for The Boy Wonder #1 is. Damian Wayne has long been a favorite of mine (hey, I’m a Grant Morrison fan, ofcoursehe’s a fave) and I love the Batman: The Animated Series vibes of Juni Ba’s art for this new book, so that’s going straight to the top of my pull list for May.I’m also looking forward to seeing just how Catwoman’s ‘Nine Lives’ arc plays out as it reaches its conclusion. If you’ve not been paying attention to that book recently, then it’s fair to say that Selina Kyle is going through some stuff right now. She’s died, come back, and now literally has nine lives (cos, y’know, cat). They’re running out fast and I’m fascinated to see how Tini Howard and Carmine Di Giandomenico are going to wrap this one up.Finally for this month, Detective Comics #1085. Ram V’s run on the book has been dark, dangerous and steeped in atmosphere. It’s ending in #1089 and it really feels like everything is building to a grand climax. The synopsis for May’s #1085 promises big changes in Gotham and we can’t wait to find out what that means…
